International investment manager M&G plc and existing institutional shareholder PIMCO, took a substantial equity stake in Ireland’s largest non-bank lender, Finance Ireland, in a highly complex series of transactions which included replacing an unwieldy legacy UK corporate structure with a new Irish holding company.

Finance Ireland, which employs 170 people, is a multi-asset lender specialising in car finance, commercial property, residential mortgages, SME, agri-lending and leasing finance. The series of transactions were transformational and ideally position the company to leverage the favourable structural changes occurring in the Irish market.
