Cork to host major food finance conference
A significant Food and Beverage Finance conference takes place in the University College Cork campus on May 19th and 20th next.

“Food and Beverage Finance ’22” (FBF22) brings together international leaders from the food and drinks industry with financiers and investors for plenary sessions composed of interviews and panel discussions on the theme of “Investing in sustainable production, distribution and retailing of food and beverages”.

Key industry leaders attending include the CEO of Tesco Ken Murphy, the Chairman of Tate and Lyle Gerry Murphy, Musgraves CEO Noel Keeley, C&C CEO David Forde, Origin Enterprises CEO Sean Coyle, CEO of Keelings Caroline Keeling, Kerry Group’s global head of sustainability Juan Aguiriano, the Managing Director of Heineken Ireland Maarten Schuurman and the CEO of Pernod Ricard Ireland Claire Tolan.

In addition video interviews will take place with Tim Clarkson, Head of Strategy at the world’s largest kiwi producer Zespri, Yvan Schaepman, CEO of Boormalt, the largest maltster in the world, global head of Agri-food with KPMG Ian Proudfoot and Olivia Nelligan, CFO of the largest farmer owned co-op in the US.

The invite-only audience will be comprised of both corporate and investment bankers, institutional equity investors and private equity firms.

FBF22 is being hosted by University College Cork which has a rich tradition producing both science and business graduates for the global food and beverages industry. The conference is being sponsored by AIB, Goodbody Stockbrokers, KPMG and A&L Goodbody.

On the evening of May 19th each of the sponsoring firms will bring their conference guests to a restaurant in the Cork area to experience the best of Irish food and beverages. The conference itself will take place at various UCC campus locations over the two days.

In parallel with the conference a number of Food and Agri SMEs will participate in “Bootcamp” sessions with an expert panel in M&A and funding.

This inaugural conference is the start of a five year project to develop an annual gathering in Cork which allows global leaders in food and drink to meet in a convivial environment with the Irish and international investment and financial community. It is designed to facilitate networking opportunities while debating themes of strategic value to the industry and its investors.
