Mark Nicolaides

Special Counsel to the European Securitisation Forum on Basel Securitisation matters

Mark Nicolaides is partner resident in the London office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP. He has also worked in New York, Belgium and Germany and speaks German fluently. Mark has been outside counsel to the European Securitisation Forum since 2001 in connection with the preparation of industry comments on the new Basel II regulatory capital proposals and the related discussions with the BIS Committee. He also represents the ESF in connection with the implementation of the Basel II Accord at the EU and member state levels. His transactional practices focuses on restructuring conduits to minimise regulatory capital burdens on sponsors and structuring transactions to achieve off-balance sheet treatment under International Financial Reporting Standards.
