Regulating Fintech: The Way Forward

In May the European Parliament was the first EU institution to set out a clear position on how Fintech should be regulated in the EU. The European Commission is currently conducting a public consultation on Fintech with a view to defining an EU strategy. This event is an opportunity to discuss the oncoming regulatory responses to Fintech services and how we can create a fit-for-purpose Fintech ecosystem in Ireland. Speakers from Central Bank and leading companies in the sector.

The Financial Centres Summit
Presented by Finance Dublin and Financial Services Ireland
Venue: The Printworks in Dublin Castle and other venues in the Dublin Castle complex
The Summit will provide an overview of the business and jurisdictional issues facing cross border International Financial Services businesses globally, by global thought leaders. Held in Dublin, it will focus on the global issues in the five International Financial Services hubs where Ireland is a leading world financial centre: Aircraft Leasing, Investment Funds & Asset Management, Market-Based Finance, Reinsurance & Insurance, and International Banking.
In a stream theme "Global financial centres: Trends and emerging locations" it will address the implications of some of the most impactful changes seen since the financial crisis, for example, Brexit, the new administration in the USA, Asian financial centre developments, as well as global developments in tax and regulation, e.g. BEPS, and the post-crisis financial stability agenda of the FSB.
Plenary conference themes will cover Global Stability, Financing and Capital Markets, Brexit, the EU & Ireland touching on issues such as Equivalence/Best Passport Options/The London-EU Clearing issue, Labour market questions and the Brexit negotiations. Plenary overview sessions will provide an Economic & Business overview and will cover Banking, Assets, Market Based Finance, & Tech.
