SMBC Aviation Capital is a leading global aircraft leasing company focusing on acquiring, leasing, managing and selling commercial aircraft. The lessor's ultimate shareholders are Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) (66%) and Sumitomo Corporation (SC) (34%). They own the company through Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (a 100% subsidiary of SMFG) and Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company (owned equally by SMFG and SC). SMBC Aviation Capital was acquired from Royal Bank of Sctoland in 2012.
