Athora Ireland (formerly Aegon Ireland plc) was acquired by Bermudian insurer Athora Holding in 2018 for €195m. Aegon Ireland was formerly part of Aegon Group, one of the world's largest listed insurance companies with assets under administration of around €400 billion. It has been operating in Ireland since 2002.
