Insurance Ireland is the Voice of Insurance in Ireland representing the Irish general insurance, health insurance, life assurance, reinsurance and captive management sectors. Insurance Ireland represents almost 140 companies providing insurance domestically in Ireland and internationally from Ireland. Its key functions include:
- Representing members' interests to Government, state agencies, regulatory bodies, public representatives, other national interest groups, the media and the general public.
- Representing the position of members at a European level, particularly via its Brussels office and Insurance Europe, the European association for national insurance company representative bodies, and at a global level via the Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA).
- Keeping members abreast of relevant policy and regulatory developments and providing a forum for member debates on such issues.
-Helping the development of an InsurTech ecosystem in Ireland through partnerships with academic institutions, professional services firms, Government agencies and start up incubators.
-Developing Ireland as a hub for internationally traded insurance and reinsurance through promotional activity, advocacy, collaboration with state agencies and informing Government policy such as IFS2020.
