Damien Barnaville is based in Walkers' Ireland office where he is a Partner in the Asset Management & Investment Funds Practice Group.

Damien has practised as a financial services lawyer in Dublin for many years and during that time has acted for a broad range of funds, fund sponsors, management companies and fund service providers. He has a particular focus on advising in relation to the establishment, authorisation, distribution and operation of all types of Irish investment funds including UCITS and AIFs. Damien also advises asset managers, depositaries and fund administrators on their day to day regulatory obligations in Ireland.

Career:

Damien worked in Dublin for a range of funds, fund sponsors, management companies and fund service providers as a financial services lawyer. Immediately prior to joining Walkers, Damien was EU Legal Director for US broker dealer, Charles Schwab. In that role, he advised on various EU fund and asset management related issues arising for the business.

Prior to this, Damien spent 12 years working in the Financial Services Department of a well-established Dublin based law firm, serving as Partner in that firm for four of those years.
