Career:

Andy Smyth is a Consulting Director with EY Financial Services in Ireland, where he provides Actuarial, Risk, Sustainability and other Consulting Services, to EY's Ireland-based General Insurance clients. He has worked in General Insurance Consulting roles in the Irish, Bermuda and London (re)insurance markets, delivering value for clients through advising them on developing and executing their strategic goals.

Andy is motivated by helping EY's insurance clients with tackling some of the industry’s biggest challenges, from successfully delivering large-scale Finance/Actuarial Transformations, to thriving in an ever-changing Risk environment, and leading on the Sustainability Agenda. He leads teams that help our clients achieve their ambitions across these and other areas. Andy’s technical expertise covers Reserving, Capital, Underwriting and Regulatory Change. He has held the signing roles of Loss Reserve Specialist under the Bermuda solvency regime, and Reviewing Actuary under the CBI's Domestic Actuarial Regime.

Qualifications:

Andy is a Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries in the U.K. and of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial & Financial Studies from UCD.
