Practice Area: Banking & Finance [Banking & Finance/Capital Markets]
Profile:
Members of our Banking and Financial Services group work closely with our corporate, property, construction, projects and taxation specialists in order to ensure that clients are provided with a completely integrated service from term sheet to closing. For international transactions the group is able to draw on the experience of its lawyers, many of whom have worked overseas, as well as established working relationships with lawyers throughout the Eversheds Sutherland International network of firms. The group's ability to assemble teams across practice groups and offices facilitates the provision of the highest quality legal advice to our clients.
Our client-focused lawyers offer a broad range of services to domestic and international lenders and borrowers relating to or involving bilateral and syndicated loans, secured and unsecured loan facilities, acquisition finance, asset finance, property finance, project finance, regulatory advice, security and pre-enforcement reviews, insolvency law, tax-based lending and re-financings. In addition, the group has assisted clients with the introduction of new financial products and has worked on structuring and negotiating various innovative and high-profile financing transactions in both the Irish and international markets.
The group regularly advises a large number of major banks operating in the Irish market along with many international credit institutions. The group also advises domestic, international and multinational companies, public organisations, government bodies, individuals, trusts, funds, co-ownerships, partnerships and energy providers. The group's clients are provided with commercial, enterprising and effective representation tailored to their specific needs.
On the regulatory side, our specialised lawyers have expert knowledge in drafting the agreements and other documentation required to structure regulated transactions and appoint service providers. They also have extensive experience of obtaining clearances from the Financial Regulator (including applying for authorisation, upgrading authorised status and seeking approval for ownership changes). We regularly advise overseas clients in relation to the introduction of their products and services in Ireland, including banking products.
Eversheds Sutherland is an Associate of the Irish Banking Federation.
In Chambers and Partners 2020 one client enthused that "The lawyers are practical, commercial and understand our business."
