Special Areas:Ciara is a Director on our Financial Services Risk and Advisory team. She has extensive experience in the FS sector, specialising in regulatory risk and assurance. Ciara’s team provides advice and assurance across all industries in the FS sector on Internal Audit, regulatory compliance, upstream risk, regulatory remediation, risk management, and governance.Ciara's experience spans a range of sectors, including Banking, Insurance/Reinsurance, Credit Servicing, Retail Credit Firms, Payment Institutions, E-Money Firms and Credit Unions. Ciara understands the ever-changing regulatory landscape and the risks that organisations face, and how to address them. Ciara has a practical approach to delivering solution-driven recommendations that add value to organisations and the regulatory environment in which they operate. Career:Ciara has over 20 years' experience in the FS sector in Regulatory and Risk Management. Prior to joining BDO in 2022, Ciara worked for a large Professional Services firm in Management Consulting, specialising in Regulatory Risk. In addition, Ciara worked for 10 years in industry at a pillar Bank and large credit servicing firm, including holding a PCF role.Ciara has led multiple large scale engagements ranging from Central Bank authorisations, Internal Audit programmes, regulatory remediations, regulatory transformation programmes to governance reviews and Board training on a wide variety of regulatory topics. Qualifications:Holds an honours degree in Business Management from Technology University Dublin and a Certificate in Compliance from the IOB.Memberships:Ciara is a member of the Compliance Institute.
