A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, he also holds an MBA from the Smurfit School. He has worked as an economist in the Department of Finance and the European Central Bank, and was Irish Times Economics Editor from 2005-2007. Internationally experienced (ECB) MBA (scholarship) multi lingual senior manager with 25 years experience in policy management and leadership, most recently driving Ibec’s international commercial engagement (Head of Business Development)) and before then driving Financial Services industry's response to Brexit and engagements with Central Bank of Ireland, Government and EU as Director of FSI (Ibec). Blends senior management with excellent high level media communications experience (Economics Editor Irish Times, Newstalk) with important roles as economist at national (Department of Finance) and European (European Central Bank) level. Has taken a leading role in driving communications at organizational national and international level and in coordinating private public dialogue on key policy challenges including Brexit, the future of financial services and media coverage of the financial crisis. A thought leader who has written 4 key publications on Ireland’s economy and future including 2 bestsellers.
