Leon Bloom is a Partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP and is a member of the Management Board of the firm’s Global Financial Services Industry (GFSI) practice. He oversees the various global service lines that support this practice including the Risk and Capital Management service line.
Leon's practice focus includes the provision of capital management, risk management and financial governance consulting services to public and private sector clients. He has had numerous related articles published including in American Banker, European American Business Journal, Bank Director, Bank Accounting & Finance, Boardroom Intelligence, Australian Banking & Finance, and CA Magazine. He is also a co-author of the “Basle Implementation Handbook” published 2004 by Erich Schmidt Verlag (ESV).
Leon specialises in the area of capital management including stochastic modelling of non life, life and banking businesses. He has extensive experience advising many regulators, insurers and banks on designing and using such models for a variety of purposes including rating agency ratings and economic and regulatory capital requirements. He also the co-architect of the Deloitte’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) methodology and has led its implementation in some of the world’s leading financial institutions.
Leon is a graduate of the University of London, England and the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, USA. He is a member of professional associations in Europe and North America.
