David Smyth

David is a Tax Partner in Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Group. He works with a broad range of clients including major Irish companies and multi-national groups. Since 1992 David has specialised in the taxation of financial services, banking, structured finance and securitisation transactions, advising companies setting up in the IFSC and in international tax planning. He has also worked with the capital markets group in Ernst & Young London. David is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and the Irish Taxation Institute. He has lectured on taxation matters both for the Irish Taxation Institute and the Law Society. He is also a member of the Taoiseach's Banking & Treasury Group.
