Newry outsourcing company secures first contracts in Africa

November 10th: Newry based KOSI Corporation Ltd has secured its first contracts in Africa worth 950,000 with support from Invest Northern Ireland.

Established in 2010, KOSI provides outsourced accounting, financial administration, IT, HR, procurement and programme management services to a range of public and private sector organisations in mainland Europe, Africa and Asia, as well as in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The new contracts were secured in Mozambique and Rwanda as a result of KOSI’s significant investment in export development. Invest NI offered KOSI 28,000 of support, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

As part of its overall investment strategy, KOSI has appointed a business development manager to drive sales and marketing activities, and has invested in its management information system infrastructure and on line capability.

Mark Bleakney, Manager of Invest NI’s Southern Regional Office, said: “KOSI is an ambitious, globally focused company with significant growth potential and the contract successes in Africa represent an important milestone for the firm. The investment will help to build the company’s capabilities and support further export development.”

Richard Troope of KOSI, said: “KOSI was established at the end of last year to exploit the global business opportunities resulting from organisations outsourcing their back office and front-of-office services. In this regard we are delighted with the outsourcing model we have established with The Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAI) which has an outstanding reputation internationally. Invest NI’s support has been central to boosting our competitiveness. We are pleased with the sales we have achieved in export markets to date and are committed to building on this success.”
