Special Areas:- Advises on the establishment of UCITS umbrella structures (including ETFs, master feeder, index tracking and liquidity funds).- Advises UCITS funds which are complex users of derivatives. - Advises on the registration of investment funds in Europe and Asia. - Advises on the establishment of Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFMs) and Alternative Investment Funds (including real estate, absolute return and private equity). Career:Brian trained at Dillon Eustace and re-joined the firm in 2006 from another Irish firm as a partner in the Financial Services Department. Brian advises leading international financial institutions and asset managers on carrying on business in Ireland. In particular he advises upon the structuring, establishment and operation of all types of funds including UCITS (such as ETFs, master-feeder, index tracking and money market funds), alternative investment funds (such as property, absolute return and private equity) and investment business firms. Brian works with local counsel for the distribution of Irish funds throughout Europe and Asia. Brian has also worked and advised on the acquisition and merger of regulated entities.Qualifications:University College Dublin and the Law Society of Ireland.Law Society of Ireland. Legal and Regulatory Committee of the Irish Funds Industry Association. Admitted to the Law Society in England and Wales. Memberships:Brian is a member of the Legal and Regulatory Committee of the Irish Funds Industry Association. Brian is also a regular contributor to various industry journals and speaker at international fund events.
