Special Areas:

Gayle has extensive experience in relation to the establishment, authorisation, management and listing of various UCITS and AIFMD compliant fund products.

Gayle also has particular expertise in relation to advising asset managers on licensing options post Brexit and cross border mergers having advised on the first re-domiciliation of a Jersey fund into Ireland and on the cross border merger of two money market fund platforms, which was one of the first mergers effected under the UCITS IV procedures.

Gayle also provides advice to managers and distributors in relation to the global distribution and marketing of Irish and non-Irish fund products.

Projects:

Advising on first re-domiciliation of Jersey Fund into Ireland, advising a prominent asset manager on the cross border merger of their Money Market Fund platforms between Ireland and Luxembourg, advising a large French bank on the compliance of their administration and depositary agreements with the provisions of AIFMD.

Career:

Gayle is a founding partner of the Irish office of Pinsent Masons, where she is the Head of the Asset Management and Investment Funds Group.

Prior to joining Pinsent Masons, Gayle worked as a partner in the Asset Management and Investment Funds Group of an international law firm, where she practiced for seven years having previously gained in-house experience as senior legal counsel to a leading asset management company advising on new product initiatives and restructuring projects related to UCITS, non-UCITS and managed accounts domiciled in Ireland, Luxembourg, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. Gayle originally trained and qualified into the investment funds group of a top tier Irish law firm.

Gayle is ranked as Highly Regarded by IFLR, described by Chambers as being "technically able and responsive" and by Legal 500 as having a "strong business acumen".

Qualifications:

MPhil in European Politics & Law, University of Oxford; BA (Int.), University College Dublin.

Memberships:

Gayle is a member of the Irish Funds Brexit Steering Group and is the outgoing Chair of the Irish Funds Legal & Regulatory Committee, which liaises with the Central Bank of Ireland, the Irish Government and European bodies to represent the interests of the Irish funds industry. Gayle is a member of the incorporated Law Society of Ireland and has served as the internal examiner for their Diploma in Investment Funds. Gayle has also published a number of articles in the area of investment funds.
