Special Areas:

Banking risk management and regulation. Extensive knowledge of financial risk management and has experience in treasury, derivatives, retail and wholesale banking. Deep knowledge of prudential capital and liquidity issues, including risk modelling and governance

Career:

Conor Griffin is an Executive Director in the Financial Services Risk practice focusing on the banking sector. He has over 15 years' experience in the financial services industry where he held positions in banking and professional advisory services before joining EY in 2002.

Conor has extensive knowledge of financial risk management and loan valuation, and has experience in treasury, derivatives, retail and wholesale banking. He worked on numerous elements of the Central Bank of Ireland's Financial Measures Programme and Prudential Capital Adequacy Review (PCAR) exercise over 2011-2013, and led a team of EY professionals engaged by Ireland's National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) to value the multi-billion euro portfolio of property loans acquired from one of Ireland's largest banks. In addition, Conor has managed and acted as subject matter resource on Basel II and risk management related internal audit reviews for a number of leading Irish and international banks.

Conor holds a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Strathclyde and a BA (Hons) in European Business Studies and German from University of Ulster. He is a member of the steering committee of the Irish Chapter of Professional Risk Managers' International Association (PRMIA).

Contributor to industry publications including Finance Dublin.
