Elaine is a Partner in William Fry's Banking & Financial Services Department. She advises on syndicated loans, structured finance transactions, large ticket leasing, PPP and project finance transactions, derivatives, debt capital market issues, securitisations and advises generally on the establishment of financial institutions in Ireland (including banking and agency treasury operations) and the regulatory regime.

Recent significant deals include advising:
Ardagh Packaging Group plc on all Irish law aspects of the proposed US$4.5bn bond issuance and security package.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch who provided financing to Medtronic Inc., the world’s largest stand-alone medical device maker for the purposes of acquiring Covidien p.l.c, an Irish based maker of devices used in a range of surgical procedures for $42.9bn in cash and stock.
Barclays in relation to the issuance by INEOS Finance Plc, a subsidiary of INEOS Group Holdings S.A., of €770m of 4% senior secured notes due 2023.
Fitch Ratings, Inc in relation to the rating of €8,000,000,000 mortgage backed floating notes due November 2049 of Fastnet Services 3 Limited.
ARHL Retail Holdings Ltd (member of the Selfridges Group) on all legal aspects of its acquisition of Arnotts department store.
European Investment Bank on the refinancing of facilities with Ervia following the transfer of assets by Ervia to Bord Gais Networks Ireland.
Bank of Ireland in the provision of funding to construct and operate upgrades to N7 and N11 Roads.
Lloyds TSB Bank plc on the leveraged refinancing for the sponsor-owned David Lloyd Group.

Joined William Fry in 1985. Qualified in 1989. Became a partner in 1993

Qualifications:

Elaine qualified as a solicitor in 1989, having studied at University College Dublin (BCL) and is Joint Head of the Financial Services Department in William Fry.
