Tim joined Grant Thornton in 2016 as a Director and Head of Aviation Advisory Services. He has extensive experience relating to the establishment and testing of internal control frameworks, design and review of financial models specific to the aviation sector, as well as business consulting, such as the establishment of aircraft leasing platforms or process improvement through automation.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Tim worked in a big four firm within the aviation and financial services industries for over five years. Prior to this, he originally graduated and practiced as a civil engineer before completing his accountancy exams.
Career:
Tim has both domestic and international experience within the aviation industry and has worked with some of the world's largest aircraft leasing companies and airlines.
He has worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from SOX 404 testing in preparation for Initial Public Offering, design/review of maintenance reserve cashflow forecasting models, lease/buy/hold analysis for large portfolios of commercial aircraft, management/oversight of data migrations, design of both captive and commercial aircraft leasing platforms.
Tim is firmly of the belief that aviation advisory should be provided through a cohesive, integrated team of cross-function specialists from internal audit/assurance, financial modelling, business and IT consulting.
Qualifications:
Tim is a qualified Engineer (CEng) from University College Cork (UCC), accountant (GCMA) professional qualification he got while working in one of the big four firms. He also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, UCD.
