Special Areas:

David has over fifteen years of audit experience including a placement in London. He specialises in the provision of a range of audit and assurance services to the financial services industry, particularly in the areas of banking, capital markets and asset management.
His portfolio of clients includes credit institutions, hedge funds, private equity funds, regulated management companies and other investment vehicles including S.110 companies. He has extensive experience in the audit of structures holding complex derivative contracts, private equity investments, real estate, securitisations and distressed loan assets.
David has vast experience in the audit and preparation of financial statements in accordance with Irish GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP. His other non-audit activities include reviews of financial institution loan books, performance track record reviews for asset managers and financial reporting impact assessment advisory services.

Career:

David joined the Financial Services Audit department of Grant Thornton in 2006 and was admitted to the partnership in 2020 with focus on growing the firms asset management, banking and capital markets practices.

Qualifications:

David holds a Master of Business in Accounting from Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT).

Memberships:

David is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI). He is Grant Thornton’s representative on the Audit Constituency Group and Steering Committees of the Irish Debt Securities Association (IDSA). He is also the firms representative on the Irish Funds ETF steering committee and a former member of the Irish Funds Real Assets and Technical Financial Reporting sub-group.
