Laura Myles is the Head of Technology and IP at Flynn Oâ€™Driscoll Business Lawyers with 25 years' experience in intellectual property and technology law and practice.
Prior to joining Flynn O'Driscoll LLP, Laura founded and for many years operated her own firm, TradeSecrets Limited, which later merged with Flynn O'Driscoll LLP. Laura has extensive experience in advising clients in a wide range of intellectual property, commercial, technology and data protection matters. Over the course of her career she has also worked in-house for large multi-national corporations both in Ireland and the US. Laura advises on all aspects of data protection and privacy, including GDPR compliance projects and implementation from small to large scale, complex contract review and negotiation for data driven companies as well as advising on personal data breaches, risk mitigation and response plans.
Laura completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons) at DePaul University, Chicago, majoring in Business and Law; a LLB Postgraduate Degree in Law (Hons) at the National University of Ireland, Galway; a Masters in European and Comparative Law (LLM) (Hons) through the University of Limerick, specializing in International Business, and subsequently earned a Diploma in Arbitration Law at University College Dublin.
Laura, a certified data protection officer, is a member of The Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland (Data Protection) and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Laura is also a registered trade mark and design attorney, a C.I. Arb. accredited mediator, a qualified arbitrator and member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Irish Branch).
