David Smyth leads Ireland's FSO International Tax Services Practice. He has been with the firm since 1986. He advises a wide range of clients, including major Irish companies and multinational groups, on all aspects of their tax planning strategies. Since 1992, he has specialised in the taxation of financial services, banking, treasury, securitisation and structured finance transactions. He also has particular experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He previously worked with EY's Capital Markets group in London.
David has lectured widely on taxation matters in Ireland and abroad, and is a member of the Taoiseach's Banking and Treasury Group and of the Consultative Committee of the Accountancy Bodies of Ireland (CCABI) Tax Committee South.
