He has over 25 years' experience working in senior roles across the financial services sector, including consumer banking, corporate banking, markets and treasury, financial services audit, and transaction advisory. Danny has considerable experience in IFRS accounting, treasury accounting (XVAs, hedging, IBOR / benchmark reform), leading and delivering change, risk-adjusted return on capital / ROE, budgeting and planning, business partnering, cost change programmes and leading large teams (both project and business as usual).

Through EY’s CFO Advisory and FAAS practices, Danny works closely with CFOs and finance functions, providing practical thought leadership and timely market insight to help them respond to evolving regulatory, financial reporting and transformation challenges.

Career:

Danny Buckley leads EY's FS Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. The focus of FS FAAS is supporting CFOs in meeting the ever-changing demands on their agenda. Danny has more than 20 years' industry and practice experience spanning finance (consumer banking, corporate banking and markets/treasury), corporate finance (recapitalisation of the banks, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring of the Irish banking system), financial services audit and transaction advisory services.

He has a recognised track record leading large multidisciplinary teams, building senior client relationships, and delivering large scale business transformation and regulatory driven change. At EY, Danny leads a cross functional team of more than 40 consulting and advisory professionals, supporting Irish and international clients across the banking and capital markets sector.

Qualifications:

Danny holds a law degree from University College Dublin and a Professional Diploma in Accounting from DCU.
