Mary McKenna is a Partner in the Asset Management & Investment Funds Group of A&L Goodbody. Mary specialises in investment funds and financial services law. She has extensive experience in the structuring, establishment and authorisation of all types of investment funds, including UCITS, alternative investment funds (AIFs) and funds seeking approval under the prospectus directive. Mary advises fund promoters, investment managers and fund service providers on relevant Irish law, regulation and practice. She also advises on Irish securities law and on the establishment and regulation of asset management and fund servicing activities in Ireland.
She has advised many international clients on the establishment of their investment fund platforms in Ireland including HSBC, Legal & General, GE, Cannacord Genuity, Smith & Williamson, Marriott International, Commerzbank, Scottish Widows and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Mary is a regular contributor to a number of the committees and sub-groups established by Irish Funds including its Legal and Regulatory Committee. She is also the legislative sub-group of the ISFC Funds Group, which is a cross sectoral committee established under a framework put in place by the Irish Prime Minister. Mary is a member of the Money Market Fund Taskforce Group established by Irish Funds.
