The Report also explores many servicing themes covered in last November's Finance Dublin Securitisation Conference and attended by almost 300 people [see below] and it will help set the scene for the forthcoming 2007 Finance Dublin Securitisation Conference in November 26th & 27th next.

The Fifth Finance Dublin International Securitisation (2006) conference was the most comprehensive yet. The two day event focused on market conditions, as evidenced in the content of several of the keynote addresses at the conference last November 2006.

These themes were carried through in ten panel discussions, including a focus on cutting edge developments in the biggest and fastest growing product markets, such as RMBS/CMBS and synthetic CDOs.

Ireland's position as a leading structuring and listing centre for innovative vehicles was reflected in several of the panels, which discussed the relative merits of various jurisdictions for differing objectives. This was reflected in the planned discussions on innovations in structuring, and in the reinsurance panel. Investor topics were also to the fore, seen in the focus of several of the panel discussions.

The 2006 conference had the biggest international line up of speakers and delegates yet assembled at the Dublin conference, of which the distinguished list of speakers speaks for itself.

Highlights:

  • Over 50 thought leaders and leading analysts presented during the two days.
  • Nine speaker panels, in main product areas and their derivatives
  • Eight keynote speeches
  • Panels were multidisciplinary, e.g. Included, investors, traders, issuers, lawyers, and analysts
  • Investment focus throughout, including on trustee, SPV structuring, legal and regulatory topics
  • New products: CDO, ABS, CMBS/RMBS innovations, growth in the synthetic markets
  • Outlook for the debt capital and credit markets- overcoming challenges caused by tight margins and rising interest rates, investment predictions for the year
  • Exhibition
  • New and developed agendas for the Conference's very successful 'Securitisation 100 and 200' half day seminars under the chairmanship of Dr Moorad Choudhry provided attendees with latest insights on industry developments, and opportunity to participate at specially discounted rates in the main conference as well.

  • Alongside ten key panel discussions featuring global speakers from all disciplines within and outside the industry over the two days November 28th and 29th, the conference will feature a series of keynote speeches, on leading edge topics. Examples of papers will be how Basle II will affect the bank and other securitisation markets, and the shape of the next credit cycle and how history will and may not repeat itself. A product focus will feature, with consideration given to emerging and new asset classes.

The conference built on successes of the event of earlier years, and provided a showcase for service providers, including in investment analytics and investor and trading services, as well as jurisdictional structuring.

The conference's parallel seminars (Securitisation 100 and 200) was led by one of the world's leading authors of securitisation and credit textbooks Dr Moorad Choudhry (pictured above leading a course at the Finance Dublin Securitisation Conference).

Reflecting particular Dublin interests, the conference also featured a special focus on reinsurance securitisation.
