BBAM’s aircraft asset-backed securities (ABS) issuance is the global aircraft lessor and financier’s fifth ABS issuance and the first since the sale of FLY Leasing, the listed aircraft lessor which was managed and serviced by BBAM, to Carlyle Aviation in 2021.
The winner of the Financial Services Aviation Finance ABS Deal of the Year is BBAM – Horizon 2024-1 ABS. The 17 aircraft-backed deal closed in September 2024 and marked BBAM’s return to the ABS market for the first time since 2019. The pool of aircraft backing the issuance is notable for its low average age of just 1.9 years, which made it one of the youngest aircraft ABS transaction in years, and its long average remaining lease term of 9.2 years.
