The transaction was aimed at creating financial flexibility and supporting Intel’s global manufacturing operation, allowing the company to unlock and redeploy a portion of its investment in Fab 34 while maintaining operational control and a 51% controlling interest in the joint venture.
The winner of the M&A Inward FDI Investment is Apollo’s investment in Intel’s Irish Fab 34. Intel’s new Fab 34 plant in Leixlip is one of a series of investments by Intel worth tens of billions of dollars in new manufacturing infrastructure across multiple jurisdictions and is the largest in the 54-year history of the company.
