The long-awaited acquisition sees Kerry Co-op taking control of its Irish and UK dairy business, Kerry Co-op exiting the Kerry Group share register while releasing €1.4bn worth of plc shares directly to Co-Op members.
It was a deal that has been touted for many years – the acquisition by Kerry Co-Op of the Irish dairy business of Kerry Group plc, and the final exit of Kerry Co-Op from the plc share register. It was also a deal that had to leap many hurdles, not least the failure of the parties to agree a deal on a previous occasion.
