VIOTAS’ management buyout of Bord na Mona’s share in the smart-grid technology provider also involved a restructure of the group and growth funding raise to accelerate the expansion of its global business.
The winner of the Mergers & Acquisitions: MBO Deal of the Year is VIOTAS’ MBO of Bord na Mona’s 50% stake. The transaction provides Bord na Mona with a substantial return on its original investment made in 2016 while giving VIOTAS growth funding from Goodbody Capital Partners, on behalf of AIB, to scale the business and fuel its ambitious growth plans initially by adding Australia and Texas to its list of markets.
