Michael Baumstein

Senior Vice President, Capital Markets
Scottish Re
Michael Baumstein is currently Senior Vice President of Capital Markets at Scottish Re Group Limited (NYSE:SCT, www.scottishre.com). Scottish Re is a Bermuda based global life reinsurance specialist with operating companies in Bermuda, Charlotte, North Carolina, Dublin, Ireland, Grand Cayman, and London, England. Michael is also President of Scottish Re’s NASD Broker/Dealer, Scottish Re Capital Markets. Michael joined Scottish Re in March 2004 and is currently responsible for developing and executing the Company’s capital markets strategies. Prior to his current role, Michael led the Company’s corporate finance initiatives, and was the firm’s liaison with rating agencies and investors. Before joining Scottish Re, Michael was an investment banker, with a specialty in financial institutions corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions at Bear Stearns and Prudential Securities. He also held finance and strategy positions at PriceWaterhouse Coopers and Scudder Kemper Investments. Michael earned a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and an MBA from Columbia University in New York, New York.
