EY latest to unveil growth plans
The drive by the large consultancy firms to expand and upskill, particularly in growth areas such as big data, cyber security and business contingency, continues unabated, with EY the latest to announce expansion plans.

EY, which currently employs 1,800 people on the island of Ireland, intends to hire an additional 270 people. This will be through the recruitment of 220 new experienced hires and an increase in its annual graduate intake from 200 to 250. It has also opened a second office in Dublin and is opening a new one in Galway.

The firm says the expansion is in response to high demand for services such as data analytics, fraud investigation and disruption services (FIDS), cyber security and performance improvement driving growth.

Earlier this year Accenture said it was to increase its employment by a further 250 by August 2016. Coming on top of 200 new positions announced last September, this should bring its Irish employment to over 2,250. The positions are for software developers, data scientists and specialists in areas such as advanced analytics, visual analytics, big data and data integration.

PwC also announced growth plans within the past 12 months. It will recruit more than 500 people in areas such as assurance, technology, digital, data analytics, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, risk management, and international tax as well as financial services and fund administration.
